I am a licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys helping adults (18 and up) develop the tools to cope effectively with life’s challenges. I have specialized training in treating insomnia (CBT-I) and PTSD (CPT & PE), as well as chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. I combine my training in neuropsychology and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help my clients clarify their concerns and put together a collaborative treatment plan. Often, we begin with identifying problematic patterns in thoughts or actions, then monitor progress as we begin to challenge thoughts, experiment with new behaviors, and practice effective ways of reaching goals. I make it a point to meet clients where they are—I offer time-limited, goal-oriented treatment to motivated individuals ready to jump right in, but I am also able to customize care for clients who are new to therapy, skeptical of mental health treatment, experiencing cognitive limitations, or struggling to develop insight into current issues. Through my past work in a number of VA and civilian medical centers, I have specialized knowledge in traumatic brain injury/concussion, stroke, and dementia. Although I do not offer neuropsychological evaluations through my private practice, I have the necessary expertise to provide support in understanding the results or implementing the recommendations of previously completed assessments. I am bilingual (English/Spanish), and welcome individuals whose primary language is Spanish.
